New Zealand 2013: Revised Schedule

So when I said that our New Zealand schedule was ‘pretty much fixed’ now, what I meant was that a few days later, the company we had booked with would be sold to another that we had purposefully decided against, which would start a frenzy of finding alternatives; that we would eventually find InterCity and their bus passes; that they would make us an offer we couldn’t refuse; and that we would end up having to slightly re-schedule our plans. Yes, because that’s what ‘pretty much fixed’ means where I come from.

I’m giving you the revised schedule in a second. As you can see, we’re on the road pretty much every day (only seven or eight days are still bus-free), but if my Africa experience last year is anything to go by, that shouldn’t be too much of a problem. For anyone who’s interested, our longest drive-day should be on the 10th, from Nelson to Franz Josef, which will take us almost ten hours. Fun! But even on the days where we don’t go from one place to the next, we’re already pretty well booked. A ‘Lord of the Rings’ tour from Wellington, two day-tours from Paihia, et cetera, et cetera.

Aside from Abel Tasman, Doubtful Sound, Picton and Paihia, we’re always staying at YHA Hostels, so if you happen to be in the area, come and say hi! 😉
