2014: What a Year

When I said I’d have more posts up soon, I obviously meant in several months’ time. …oops? Life has kept me extraordinarily busy. Since my last post, I’ve written a dissertation, found a job that I love, moved into a new apartment that I also love, and done a ton of other stuff that, despite the fact that I’m 25 years old, I wish actual grown-ups could still do for me.

I am finally writing up that New Zealand report I promised, though, and I’m almost done with the photos, too. So those posts should really be up soon.

This summer, the boyfriend and I went to Greece, and I’ll start working on those photos once New Zealand is out of the way. At least I managed not to take thousands of pictures this time. I’m at a little below 400 now, after already culling a lot of photos, but I’ll hopefully be able to delete a bunch more in the sound round.

The trip to Italy didn’t happen, and I won’t bore you with details why it didn’t work out. Suffice to say, I was very sad I couldn’t spend my birthday there. However, the boyfriend and I have already planned (and started booking) a trip to Northern Italy in the spring. I’ll get to go back to Bologna (yay!), and finally see cities like Milan, Pisa and Florence, among others. And we’ll also be eating our weight in delicious food, let’s be real.

As a sort-of last minute addition to my travel schedule, my mum invited me to go to Prague with her for a few days. So that’s what I’m doing next week! I’ve never been, and were it not for the fact that we have to be at the bus stop at 3.30 am on Tuesday, I would be super excited. Now I’m just excited.

As for our big trip of 2015, the boyfriend and I haven’t decided what we want to do yet. We definitely want to leave the continent, and we’re torn between South-East Asia and East Africa. I want to show him Tanzania, but for whatever reason, he’s not as excited as he should be. I’ll keep you updated on that front.

Okay, enough of this, I need to get back to the NZ report. 😉
